Frequently Asked Questions

When is the next Household Hazardous Waste drop-off day?

Public Works, Bureau of Solid Waste, works to insure at least one household hazardous materials drop off day each year.  Due to budget constraints we do not have firm dates scheduled but ideally we try to fund April and October drop off days.

Paint, oil, turpentine, long tube CFL’s-- Baltimore offers its residents periodic collection of materials that absolutely can not go into the trash or down a drain. These materials must be disposed of by a reputable, licensed contractor.

City residents are encouraged to properly store hazardous materials for safe disposal at one of the City’s annual Household Hazardous Waste Days (HHW) — free to City residents.
